Truth-in-Building Process

Finding a trusted home improvement contractor who can bring your unique ideas to life can be difficult. We know how frustrating this can be and have worked hard to change it. Our high standards of excellence, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service make your Verum home improvement experience enjoyable and headache-free. To accomplish this, we utilize a process referred to as Design-Build in each project. Design-Build means that all the key aspects of your project are integrated within a single team — from design to building to warranty. This eliminates finger pointing and ensures the vision you started with equals the home you end up with — your vision stays intact, down to the smallest detail. Best of all, our relationship doesn’t end when the project is done. We’ll be here for years to come should you have questions or further home upgrade needs. Ready to get started? The Verum, Truth-in-Building Process Delivers a Better Experience and a Better Result

1

Let's Talk

During this phase we will get acquainted to see if we are a good fit for one another. Since you are reading this document, that process is already underway. During our on-site consultation, we will do a deep dive into your vision and make sure that we “get it.” We will talk about your budget in relation to your vision, consider possible options and explain how financing works with us. We will talk schedule, your role in the project, and what you can expect from us. We will be unfailingly honest — telling you what will be fun — and what will not. We will leave you with a complete guidance kit full of useful information to help you understand not only who we are, but also how projects like yours work.

2

Professional Services Agreement

Prior to entering into a Construction Agreement together, there will be preconstruction processes for which there will be fees. These fees are separate from the construction contract. These Pre-Construction processes will be handled with what is called a Professional Services Agreement or PSA. Your PSA will usually include costs for doing a detailed estimate that assures you a quality completed project at a guaranteed price, design services, and sometimes demolition and discovery work as required to help create a known project scope. The PSA does not obligate you to enter into a Construction Agreement with us and you own the results of the design work covered by the PSA.

3

Project Development

With all or most of the results of the PSA work in hand, we will meet with you to talk through the project. We will take all the time you want to be comfortable and confident. We will go over the scope of work, project plan, progress payments, timelines, logistics and concerns. You will meet your personal project manager and discuss how communications will be handled.

4

The Construction Agreement

At this point, we will now have all the information to provide a guaranteed price for your project, you will have signed off on the design and production plan. You will have met your project manager and know who will be involved in your project from start to finish. We will provide an Agreement for our mutual signatures. We will go over and explain our straightforward Agreement.

5

Project Management

During the building phase, we will handle all the details of ordering materials, scheduling, over-site, and coordination. Concurrently, we will diligently keep you up to date on progress and issues.

6

In-Process Changes

No matter how carefully we plan your project, you will probably want to make some changes along the way. We are prepared to cheerfully accommodate any changes you want to make. Our Agreement will explain how costs associated with your changes will be handled.

7

Project Completion

During this completion phase we will meticulously inspect to ensure that craftsmanship level have been maintained throughout the project. We will do a final review meeting with you to answer any operational questions regarding appliances, heating and cooling systems and any other questions. We will do a final cleanup to the highest standards possible both within the project and anything on the property that we touched. We will set you up with a document for you to list anything you might run across that was not done right. And finally, you will benefit from our industry leading 5-year warranty on our work.
