Whether attached to your home (ADU) or detached in your yard (DADU), these self-contained spaces provide flexible options for aging parents, adult children, rental income, or a private home office. Our team navigates complex permitting requirements and zoning regulations throughout Monroe, Kirkland, Redmond, and surrounding areas, ensuring your project complies with all local codes while maximizing the allowable space.

Garage Additions & Conversions

Expand your storage and vehicle protection with a custom garage addition, or transform an existing garage into valuable living space. Our garage additions can include workshop areas, storage systems, and even living space above, while our conversions create seamless transitions from former garage space to beautiful, functional living areas. We handle all structural modifications, including foundation work, utility relocation, and insulation upgrades to ensure comfortable, code-compliant spaces.

Home Gym Additions

Create a dedicated fitness space tailored to your workout preferences with a custom home gym addition. Our team designs specialized environments with proper flooring, ventilation, sound insulation, and electrical requirements for exercise equipment. These additions include storage solutions, mirrored walls, audio-visual systems, and climate control to enhance your workout experience. Whether you need a compact exercise room or comprehensive fitness studio, we'll design a space that supports your wellness goals while seamlessly integrating with your existing home's architecture.

Covered Outdoor Additions

Extend your living space with covered outdoor additions that create protected transitions between indoor and outdoor environments. These versatile spaces can serve as dining areas, outdoor living rooms, or multi-purpose entertainment spaces while providing shelter from the Pacific Northwest weather. With integrated features like outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and climate control elements, these additions create functional living spaces that bridge the gap between your home's interior and your property's outdoor areas.

Our Home Addition Process

STEP 1

Let's Talk

During the Consultation we will get acquainted to see if we are a good fit for one another. We'll do a deep dive into your vision to make sure that we “get it” and will explain the benefits of our Project Development process.

STEP 2

Project Development

Prior to entering into a Construction Agreement there are necessary pre-construction processes to establish the contract details. These details are captured using our Design and Development Agreement (DDA). Using our DDA Process we will capture project vision and create a plan to accomplish your project within your budget. The DDA will usually include design, on-site structure and systems review, materials selection, permit preparation, preliminary scheduling and contract development.

STEP 3

Construction

With a well-developed plan in place, your project manager will handle all communication, ordering materials, scheduling, oversite, and trade coordination. We will keep you up to date on progress throughout. Should you want to make any changes along the way, we are prepared to accommodate adjustments to the plan.

STEP 4

Project Closeout

During the completion phase we will walk the project with you to ensure that high craftsmanship levels have been maintained and answer any operational questions. You’ll receive an Owners Folder with user manuals and project documents. In the event something comes up, you will benefit from our industry leading 5-year warranty on our work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Verum help us with a bedroom addition to our house and they did a great job from project scoping and assessment all the way through build and move (back) in. They provided clear documentation on the work that was going to be done, told us what was needed with the city, and the process of construction was done with care as we were living in the space while they were building the addition. Our project manager Andy was easy to get a hold and provided weekly status updates, their crew was respectful of our home and setup, and their subcontractors were nice and easy to work with as well. Unexpected issues were clearly explained to us, followed up with documentation for tracking, and resolutions were handled in a timely fashion. Overall they made what could've been a very tough and painful process very smooth for us and we always felt that they were part of our team during this process. We're glad to have chosen Verum for our project!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently completed a basement remodel in our Kirkland home with Verum Construction, and overall had a very positive experience.
Communication throughout the project was excellent — the team was responsive, easy to work with, and always quick to answer any questions we had. They were also very resourceful in bringing in the right specialists when needed. For example, we have Venetian plaster walls, and they made sure to find the right professionals to handle that work properly, which we really appreciated.
Our project manager, Andy, did a great job keeping the project on schedule and managing the overall process smoothly. His coordination and follow-through made a big difference in keeping things moving forward.
I’m a very detail-oriented person, and I was happy with the quality of the work and the final result. Overall, a solid experience and a team we would recommend.

We had Verum Construction create the drawings, develop the raw land and build a new home top to bottom. They were excellent the whole way. They communicated well and performed all phases as requested. They even gave us great advice along the way. I highly recommend them.

We hired Verum Const to remodel and update our back deck and cover. Their knowledge of construction and their ability to communicate with us in a manner that made it easy for everyone to understand and be on the same page, made our project successful. The project manager was on site a least once a week, and was available and responsive to our phone calls and questions. Their crew, and the crews of their subcontractors were all professional and courteous. The job site was kept clean and clutter free on a daily basis. At the end of the project, the management team came to the job site and walked through every detail to insure that we were completely happy with the final product!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Verum Const revamp our deck to our current needs. We are so glad we did! They came in and offered plenty of options, showed us pictures of similar type projects. We then selected options and they provided renderings on how it would look on our home. With a few tweaks they were able to plan everything out to provide a timeline, cost, and contract. They went over every detail of the project from contract, schedule, and subcontractors site visits. The planning and the communication was the key to a smooth execution of our project. With the wide range of capabilities that they possess, we would not hesitate to hire them for future projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot recommend Verum highly enough. From the very beginning, the entire team has been exceptionally kind, clear, and professional. As a stay-at-home mom who was around the team daily, I truly appreciated how pleasant the entire process was. Everyone was thoughtful and considerate of my time. They took great care to not cause disruption in my daily routine. They were always mindful of our space and our schedule, which made the entire process easier on our family.

They consistently took the time to walk me through each stage of the project in detail, making sure I understood exactly what to expect. Their responsiveness to questions and willingness to communicate openly made every interaction both informative and welcoming.

Working with this team for over three months has been an outstanding experience. From the initial demo phase, through framing, coordination with their subcontractors, all the way to the final walk-through, the process has been executed with professionalism. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results and highly recommend Verum to anyone looking to turn a dream into reality.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were a little nervous to work with a construction company as we had heard from friends how difficult it could be. But we had the best experience with Verum. From the planning to the final walk through, they were professional, easy to work with, and dependable. The work by both Verum and their subcontractors was amazing. In the final walk through, they asked us to be honest and let them know what they could improve on, and we couldn't come up with anything. Always available for questions and very responsive to our needs. We would recommend them for any project! Thanks to Dale, Andy, Bryce, Thomas, Levi and Juan. You guys are the best!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This has been a positive experience working with Verum. From the beginning of the project, the thoughtfulness of fixing this or that on my project, had been very refreshing. Dale & Andy saw right away what needed attention. I had a “big honey do list”, that never seemed to get finished. I can honestly say, these are honest guys to work with. The quality of their work is top notch. I am looking forward for them to come back to finish my 2nd phase of work. You can trust them to give you the price of the work, and you won’t get change ordered to death. They communicated any problems with professional care and always let me know beforehand how much they anticipate the cost being. Their care in how the work was completed was exceptional. They also scheduled the work very accurately. You won’t go wrong if you hire them!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Verum Construction truly exceeded our expectations!

Every team member was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely helpful. From start to finish, they demonstrated a high level of expertise and ensured everything was handled smoothly. At one time during the project our family was on vacation with no access to cell service or internet. Verum's project team was in a position to make a construction decision on our behalf. Our only ask of them was to make the decision as if it were their own home. They did not disappoint, and I’d trust them to do it all over again.

I highly recommend Verum Construction for anyone looking for top-notch service and quality craftsmanship.

Home Addition FAQs

How long does a typical home addition take to complete?

Will my home addition match my existing house?

Yes, creating a seamless integration between new and existing spaces is one of our specialties. We carefully analyze your home's architectural style, materials, and details to ensure the addition looks and feels like it was always part of your house. From matching rooflines and exterior finishes to ensuring consistent interior details like moldings and flooring, our design-build process focuses on creating cohesive transitions throughout your home.

Can I stay in my home during construction of an addition?

In most cases, yes. We implement careful containment measures to minimize dust and disruption, including temporary walls, sealed ventilation, and separate entrances for construction crews when possible. For second-story additions, we typically install temporary weather protection before opening the roof. During the planning phase, we'll develop a specific strategy to accommodate your family's needs while ensuring safety throughout construction.
